Find Your Spark & Get Obsessed

I started listening to Grant Cardone’s “Be Obsessed or Be Average” this week and it has been life-changing. Seriously.

In Chapter 3, Cardone goes over a list of questions to ask yourself every day. Questions that will help you find your purpose and find out what to get obsessed with.

He went through these questions so quickly and I couldn’t find a list of them online, so I went back and wrote them down so that I can read, answer, and review these every day. And I’m sharing them here so that you can too.

Why answer all these questions? It’s like Grant Cardone said, you have to “write your future to achieve your future.”

What do you have to lose?

So- Answer questions w/out any judgment, thought, etc. Just answer. Also, be sure to answer these questions every day.

Personal Interests:

What excites me right now?

What’s so exciting to me right now that I would do anything to accomplish it?

What bores me that I don’t wanna do?

What is the thing(s) I have always wanted to do?

What don’t I want to do? (No matter the payoff)

What do I do that causes you to forget to eat?

What have I been interested in since childhood?

Money Motivation:

What am I willing to do for no money?

What would I like to do for a lot of money?

If money had nothing to do with my life, what would I do with my time?

What amount of money would give me the security that I believe I need?

What amount of money would I need to have complete and total financial freedom?

What amount of money would I need to have choices in my life?

What amount of money would I need to make a difference for the better not only in my life but also in the lives of others?

Skills & Talents:

What can I do better than anyone?

What are some of my native skills? (original, not learned, innate)

What have I always been good at?

What have I always been bad at?

What skills or talents do I have that I ignore?

What am I terrible at and shouldn’t ever be doing?

What are the things I’m doing in my life that is a complete waste of my time and my talent?

In what areas do others think more of my abilities than I think of my abilities?

What are some skills I need to develop?

Market Research

What great idea have I had for starting a company or inventing something but have not yet done it?

Legacy:

What do I want to be remembered for?

What do I want people to say about me?

What contribution can I make to society that I would be so proud of?

What do I want to make sure no one ever says about me?

5 successful people I admire:

What are those people doing that I admire?

What do those I admire have in common w/each other?

What quality do I wish I shared w/that list?

What do I have in common w/each of those people?

If I could meet anyone dead or alive & spend time w/them, who would it be?

Who is the most supportive person in my life today?

Lifestyle:

What makes me feel good?

What gives me energy (even if I didn’t want to do it, when I do, it gives me energy)?

What activity bores me and does not make me feel good? (these can be things I do that I believe cause me pleasure, ex: drinking)

What things am I doing that I later regret?

What bad habits do I need to stop?

What good habits do I need to start?

What do I need to do more of that would make me feel better about myself?

What If:

What if I were going to write a book, what would it be about?

What inspirational lessons would someone draw from my life?

If I knew I couldn’t fail, what would I do?

If I could be known for just doing one unbelievable, great thing, what would that thing be?

In just a few days, this book has helped me find drive, purpose, and energy to not only figure out what my obsessions are but to work toward them, to chase after them with enthusiasm.

I’m excited. What once seemed impossible for me finally feels possible and I’ve taken major steps that I’ve been putting of for a long, long time.

I hope you’ll pick up this book and that you’ll find the obsessions you need to achieve your dreams.

See what I’m currently obsessed with, what I’m doing about it, and how you can get involved here.
