Living With Depression: Things We Wish People Understood

“Depression?? I guess I don’t know everything about your life but from my perspective, your life looks great!”

When I post to Instagram, to my blog, or to really any social media, I’m usually trying to show you my best self.

I don’t show you the hours I spend laying in bed staring blankly. I don’t show you sleeping in and then napping throughout the day because I lack the energy to do much else. I don’t show you the restless nights. All the tears. The pain. The tightness in my chest, feeling like I can’t breathe, or like I can’t speak. Having to mentally and physically drag myself out of bed, or out of my apartment, or to the gym.

You never know what someone might be going through.

Recently I asked for my followers’ input on what you wish people understood about depression. I got some absolutely incredible responses, so I made a YouTube video about them. Please share and subscribe.
